Twitter and Yahoo close huge Content Deal

Micro blogging site Twitter has joined forces with fledgling company Yahoo to make a lot of money - as per the deal Twitter and Yahoo will be tightly integrated and those using the latter would be able to access their Tweets from the Yahoo home page as well as Mail, Sports and others.

As a result more than 600 million users will be able to share real time tweets as folks will be able to Tweet from Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Sports and others. Yahoo search will also be including real-time Twitter updates. "Let me try to capture the enormity of this integration in 140 characters or less," Yahoo! Vice President Bryan Lamkin said, "We're turning the key to the online social universe -- you will find the most personally relevant experiences through Yahoo!"

According to Twitter co-founder Biz Stone: "The information in one single tweet can travel light-years farther with this Yahoo integration." Yahoo would hope to regain some search engine market while Twitter would eat a large chunk of the revenue generated. 2010 is going to be a big year for Twitter as the company would begins making money. The announcement comes just days after Google launched 'Buzz', their own social networking platform that threatens Facebook and Twitter.

As we reported earlier, Yahoo and Microsoft jammed for an advertising and search deal. As per the finalised deal, Microsoft's search engine Bing will power Yahoo's search results and Yahoo will provide search-advertising services for both the companies. The partnership between Yahoo and Microsoft will last for ten years.
