Neil Nitin Mukesh in Dhoom 3

Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi

Its official - the third installment of the Dhoom franchise is indeed in the works, and Johnny Gaddar star Neil Nitin Mukesh has been confirmed as one of the leads in the film.

Tentatively titled Dhoom 3, the film would not be a direct sequel to the original movie or Dhoom 2, but would be a standalone story with much of the original cast returning for the third film. Sanjay Gadhvi will be back in the director's chair while Aditya Chopra will be producing the film. There was a bit of buzz that Chopra would direct the film as well, but Gadhvi dismissed any such rumours.

Reportedly Neil Nitin has always wanted to be a part of the Dhoom ensemble and it only helps that he is very close to the Yash Raj camp, having already worked on New York and the upcoming 'Lafange Parinde'. "Neil who's very close to Yash Raj Films has convinced Aditya Chopra to let Gadhvi do the third Dhoom movie. Neil himself is very keen on being part of the third installment. Adi assured him there would be room for the young actor who’s currently shooting for Yash Raj's Lafange Parinde." a source said. "Everyone keeps asking me about ‘Dhoom 3.’ But the franchise belongs to Yash Raj Films. If Adi asks me to do it, I’d take the plunge, no two ways about it. Anything for Adi." Neil said.
